7 minute Audio Introduction to The Mom & Me Journals
is to undermine the isolation of the caregiving experience
by offering all, especially our loved ones, a window into our lives.
As I post to this journal I think of our loved ones and their families,
how busy and involved we all are, and that,
if and when they come to this site they can be assured
that they will miss nothing in our lives and will, thereby, recognize us
and relax easily into our arms and our routines
when we are again face to face.

To MFASRF: My mother is doing better.
She has the same clinic but a new younger doctor. Her other doctor's retiring and selected this man to work into his practice. He's very good, my mother likes him, I like him, and he is more prone to managing my mother's blood sugar with medication, which is working, after some well watched experimentation. She is never above 200 anymore, and we've even seen her in the 90's, which is cause for (a sugary) celebration. I have to watch to make sure she doesn't go too low, now. She still sleeps, a lot, but she keeps waking up so I'm satisfied. We have our arguments, still, and she continues to swear, at those times, that she could live without me. I let her think this. I think it's part of her secret to staying alive.
